Amnesia Ibiza raided by police

The club’s owner has been arrested.

Spanish police raided Amnesia Ibiza today.

The Diario de Ibiza broke the news that the Spanish Guardia Civil entered the club early this morning, arriving via helicopter. It is reportedly a joint operation with the tax authorities, though El Mundo claims the raid is an anti-drug operation. Four people have been arrested and held at the venue, including Amnesia owner Martin Ferrer. There is an order of secrecy surrounding the arrests and investigation, meaning that police and officials can’t make a comment on the proceedings.

Club management tweeted this afternoon that they would be “open tonight and running as usual.”

Amnesia, open since 1976, is one of the biggest and most well-known clubs on the island.
